A friend recently asked for my best tips that would help a non-Scrapbooker to create a scrapbook as a gift for someone. This got my wheels spinning. I've been scrapbooking since 1993. My collection currently tops out at fourteen 12x12 albums. I've put together a few helpful tips, along with my favorite places to find Scrapbooking ideas, layouts, supplies, and tips... online.

I've had my eye out for a digital scrapbook program for some time now. But most are just so basic, and boring, and sterile -- compared to REAL scrapbooks where the images and designs and embellishments just pop off the pages. But finally, I think I've found a computer scrapbook program that I would use: My Memories Suite by Polaroid.

If you have any stamps with line images, you can create a page or card using the paper piecing technique. Images are typically colored with marker, watercolor pencils, chalk, etc., then cut out and arranged. Stampin' Up has a great sample using the Happy Heart Day stamp set.

Using plain self-adhesive address labels that you can buy just about anywhere, you can create a mosaic look for cards and scrapbook pages.

The Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooking Convention is coming back to Nashville, TN this spring. There are also dates scheduled for other cities across the country.
