This graduation gift card can easily be customized for any of the graduates in your life.
My choice of colors will honor a graduate from Ball State University.
You can use the colors of your choice.
The Basic Layers
The base of the card is black cardstock, 12″ x 4-1/2″, folded to make a 6″ card.
The next layer for the front and the inside is white cardstock, 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.
The top layer is red cardstock, 3-3/4″ x 5″.
The diploma is a scrap of white cardstock (2″ x 3-1/2″) rolled around a pencil and glued. I used a super skinny red ribbon for the tie and glued it to the front of the card.

The Inside Details
I chose a Just For You stamp from my Small Greetings collection by Hero Arts.
Using the color Amber Satin (from Colorbox Cat’s Eyes classic pigment ink pads), I randomly stamped my greeting around the red paper for the inside of the card. I let some of the words fall off the side of the page, and I covered the whole piece — even though some of the words will be covered by the gift card. This way, the greeting will show even after the card has been removed.
To make the small cuts for the gift card, I centered and traced the card on the back of the stamped paper. I drew a line across 2 opposite corners where I wanted to put the cuts. I used my Fiskars Paper Trimmer to cut the lines, but you could use scissors or any cutting blade. The lines are are a little over 1″.
I finished the card with a white envelope that I made using these instructions.
You can make this graduation card using any colors. Match the graduate’s high school colors, or the colors of their new college!
