I have heard nothing but rave reviews for the Cuttlebug by Provocraft, so I decided to order one.
I love the site Custom Crops, and their prices are quite reasonable, so I got my Cuttlebug from them.
Cuttlebug Embossing Machine
With the Cuttlebug, you to use their plastic and metal dies to cut and emboss paper. You can also use the dies of several other popular cutting machines.
I wanted to be able to emboss the paper and cutouts I use to make my handmade cards and other craft projects.
Because I have a Cricut Expressions machine for cutting paper, I was less interested in that feature, but I couldn't wait to start embossing!

There are so many cute board books for little ones.
I recently had a friend who was pregnant and I wanted to make her something very special for herself and the baby. I wanted it to be something unique and elegant, but sturdy enough to withstand little hands.
I decided to make my own counting book as a numbers board book for little Ava.
Here's how I made it...

#1 Go online and sign up to receive a scrapbook challenge.
Many of these scrapbook challenges show you a picture or give you names of colors. Then, you get to come up with the exact palette that you want to try to use.
One of my favorite places to get these weekly challenges is Creative Scrappers. They have a wonderful selection. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

I received a set of 18 Kraft Edgers scissors as a gift, and they are easily my favorite edging scissors!
I love to use them to add unique touches to my handmade cards and other projects.
Kraft Edgers are great for the following reasons:
- They can cut through all kinds of paper -- including thicker cardstock and thin plastics.
- They come in a very nice wooden stand-alone holder (although it is easier for me to store mine in a drawer).
- They are made of a durable plastic (except for the cutting edges).
- Each scissor is clearly marked with the pattern name and an example of the cut.

This is a new card style for me... it's a pocket card with a pull-tab.
It's now one of my favorite ways to make handmade cards!
I learned a lot while doing my first one, and the steps I describe will include measurements and such from that very first pocket card that I made. Be sure to read to the end where I will show a slightly revised pocket card with the recommended changes.

For dog lovers everywhere! My God-daughter Shelby asked me to helped her make a Father's Day Card that looked like their new dog Molly.
The Doodlecharms cartridge for my Cricut Expression has a dog feature and we gave it a try.
Molly is a Golden Retriever, so I searched through my paper supply for just the right tones of gold.
I discovered one sheet of paper called Honey Bear that was just perfect! I don't recall where I got it, but it was probably Michael's or Hobby Lobby. It is from a collection called Honey Cottage from Paper Adventures.
