Suzie

suzie.jpg Hi, I'm Suzie and I've been crafting for many years.

I started cross-stitching when I was in grade school and still enjoy working on these projects -- especially as wedding gifts.

Over time, I moved into wearable art (mostly Christmas sweatshirts), projects with painted wood, fabric crafts, and paper crafts -- which has transformed primarily into card making.  It started when I would find a fantastic piece of printed paper that just cried out to be a card.  Now, I still love to use fantastic paper, but these days I can take plain paper and turn it into something really great!

I use a variety of tools and embellishments for my cards -- from simple stickers to the Cricut Expressions machine (...which I LOVE!).

I also do some rubber stamping and some scrapbooking, but mostly I create handmade, one-of-a-kind cards.

When I'm not crafting I love spending time with my 3 nephews and 1 niece, reading, listening to music, step aerobics, being outside, hiking, whitewater rafting, being at the beach, traveling, and going on the occasional sky dive.

I recently had a partial thyroidectomy and this website has allowed me to share my story and help others going through a similar experience.

Thanks for sharing your thyroidectomy story; it's been very helpful. I'm in day 6 of recovery and wondering how long to stay out of work. I decided to stay out three weeks, after talking with my doctor. My job involves a lot of talking and interaction, and I know I need to rest to heal. That's not easy when you try to work all day and then come home to cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. Great to see the photos along the way. Again, thanks for sharing your story.
