These 3 cards were completely inspired by the pretty flower paper that I used for the envelopes.
The papers I used:
- Flower paper = 3 sheets, 12×12 DCWV value paper pack (from JoAnne’s)
- All other paper = 8.5×11 cardstock from The Paper Company value packs (from Michael’s)
Each card is 6×6, and I made the envelopes to fit.
For the embellishments:
- The flowers were cut on my Cricut Expression using the Walking in my Garden cartridge, daisy 2.5", with handcut yellow centers.
- The word "celebrate" is from Wild Card cartridge.
- The word "friend" is from Doodlecharms.
Handmade Pink Flower Card #1
The base card is the green cardstock, 6×12, folded.
The yellow section is 5.25×4.50, placed with equal borders at the top, left and right.
The bottom border is bigger so the word celebrate fits, with a slight overlap onto the yellow section and flowers.
The 6 daisies were randomly placed, to look as if they were just scattered on the card.
The inside of the card has 2 daisies to compliment my written sentiment.
Handmade Pink Flower Card #2
Using a yellow 6×12 base, this one has 4 2.5×2.5 green squares.
I arranged them to have equal borders between them and all around the top, right and left.
Again, the bottom border is bigger so the word fits.
Each daisy has been doubled, using the fuscia pink with either light pink or white.
Again, 2 daisies on the inside.
Handmade Pink Flower Card #3
This is the card I really wanted to make when I saw the flower paper!
It has a green 6×12 base (the other half of card 1) and about a dozen daisies scattered on the front.
I wanted it to look as if it had been cut out of a patch of flowers, so I let the flowers overlap each other as well as each edge.
Once I had them pleasingly placed and secured with double-sided tape, I cut off any flower petals that ran off the edge of the page, to make each flower flush with the edge.
Inside, I placed 2 daisies and the word ‘friends’.
I plan to use these flower cards as birthday cards, but they would also be lovely as Welcome Spring cards, Mother’s Day cards, Friendship cards, Thank You cards, or Just Because cards for practically any occasion.
