I recently started thinking about my Thanksgiving cards for this year and realized that I COMPLETELY FORGOT about Halloween cards. I almost can’t believe that, because Halloween is my favorite holiday and favorite cards to make!
I personally need to plan my cards over a month before the actual holiday or event. It gives me time to do some shopping for supplies I need, get the cards made (I can’t seem to find the time during the week for this, so I live for my weekend time) and then actually get them in the mail.
I decided I have to get a grip on the upcoming holiday season, so I made myself a list of my card-worthy holidays…
I probably make more cards than most others (for example, I can’t imagine there are many stampers and scrapbookers who celebrate St. Patrick’s Day), but it gives me an opportunity to do something I love to do. At the same time, I can send a little something to family and friends to let them know I’m thinking about them. Much more thoughtful than an email or text message.
My card holidays:
- Valentine’s Day – February
- St. Patrick’s Day – March
- Easter – March/April
- Mother’s Day – May
- Father’s Day – June
- Independence Day – July
- Halloween – October
- Thanksgiving – November
- Christmas – December
I have a pretty big family. When you throw in Birthdays and Anniversaries, it’s no wonder I’m always behind with my cards.
There are other holidays that might mean something to you. For instance, someone in your family might have served in the Armed Forces. A card for Memorial Day or Veteran’s Day would show them you’re thinking about them.
Other holidays you might consider:
- New Year’s Day – January
- Mardi Gras – February/March
- April Fools Day – April
- Arbor Day – April
- Cinco De Mayo – May
- Memorial Day – May
- Flag Day – June
- Veterans’ Day – November
